The New Zealand Pony Clubs Association (NZPCA) is a not for profit, youth focused voluntary organization for people interested in ponies/horses and riding. The NZPCA is represented nationally by 81 Clubs, 238 Branches and over 9,400 members. Its aims are:

• To encourage young people to ride and to learn to enjoy all kinds of sport connected with ponies and riding in a fun and safe environment.

• To provide instruction in riding and horsemastership and to educate members to look after and take proper care of animals.

• To promote the highest ideals of sportsmanship, citizenship and loyalty to create strength of character and self discipline.

• To value, encourage, develop and recognise the volunteers who are the backbone of Pony Club and its success.

Massey Pony Club is a Branch of the West Auckland District Club, which is part of the Waitemata Rodney Area. Our ‘sister’ clubs in the West Auckland District are Te Atatu Pony Club and Henderson Valley Pony Club. We have the largest grounds and the largest membership of the West Auckland District clubs.

About Massey pony club

Massey Pony Club was established in 1972 at the top of Triangle Road. The Council leased the Te Rangi-Hiroa Reserve to Massey Pony Club in 1983, where it remains today. Our Cross Country course was built in 1992 and is one of the largest Cross Country courses in the Auckland region. We also have an all-weather arena which means members can use our facilities year-round. It is our vision for Massey Pony Club to become one of the leading schooling equestrian centres in the country.

Our current members are very fortunate to benefit from the hard work of those who came before us - we take great pride in our wonderful Club and consider ourselves guardians for the next generation of young riders.

We are committed to being an active part of the local community. We hold several events throughout the season and invite our community on to the grounds to meet with us and our ponies.

Massey Pony Club is a safe and friendly environment for families who are new to pony ownership. Owning a pony involves a lot of hard work and knowledge about animal welfare. Our curriculum covers everything from pony health to paddock maintenance as well as riding. At MPC we ensure that our riders leave Pony Club with a plethora of life skills and a well developed work ethic and community spirit.
